Mandy and Michael, expecting their first child, knew they needed a home to raise their family. While they initially looked at existing houses, they found many needed significant renovations, making building a new home a more cost-effective and efficient option. Their search led them to Hunter Homes, where they found a house and land package in Medowie that felt like the right fit for their future.
A Seamless Process with Support from Tammy
Although the couple had previously visited a display home but thought it was out of their budget, their decision to focus on Medowie changed everything. Tammy, their Sales Consultant, was a major factor in their decision to stick with Hunter Homes. She had been there from the start, providing invaluable guidance and reassuring them throughout the process. Her helpful approach made it clear that Hunter Homes was the right choice.
The Perfect Fit: Newport 220 with Bowman Facade
After discussing their options, Mandy and Michael chose the Newport 220 with the Bowman facade, and the building process went smoothly. With the land registration completed, the build took just 14 weeks—well within Hunter Homes' 24 Week Build Guarantee. They were initially expecting to move in by March 2025, but the handover was ahead of schedule, with keys handed over in December 2024.
Communication Every Step of the Way
Throughout the building process, Mandy and Michael were kept informed at every stage. Their Site Supervisor, Tim, was particularly impressive. He proactively identified and addressed defects they hadn't noticed, ensuring the house was delivered to the highest standard before they moved in.
Design Decisions: From Nervous to Delighted
Mandy and Michael had some initial concerns about making design decisions, particularly with the colour choices. However, they were ultimately thrilled with their selections. Mandy took a last-minute leap of faith, deciding on an olive green kitchen that proved to be the perfect statement piece in the home. Michael, who was keen on a more efficient layout, loved the open-plan design, which meant more family time together.
Making the Home Their Own
While they loved the display home design, Mandy and Michael also made some personalised changes. One key alteration was knocking down the wall between the main bathroom and toilet, creating a much larger space. They also redesigned their pantry to maximise storage, making it function more like a butler's pantry, and added more power points for convenience. The pink tiles in the laundry were a fun, personal touch that completed the look.
A Modern, Functional, and Comfortable Home
Now that they’ve moved in, Mandy and Michael are thrilled with their new home. It feels modern, clean, and perfectly suited to their lifestyle. Their experience with Hunter Homes has far exceeded their expectations, and they’re looking forward to creating lasting memories in their new space.
