Choosing Hunter Homes

Brett began his search by exploring various builders but quickly ran into frustration with unclear pricing. Brett recalls:

“With all the other builders, they couldn’t give me the price straight off the bat,”

That changed when he walked into Hunter Homes. Brett explains:

“The salesperson was able to say, ‘It starts at this price,’ so I knew it was in my range,” 

Unlike other builders who added surprise packages and fees after stating a price, Hunter Homes provided transparent pricing from the start. Brett chose the Bellevue design with the Bowman façade, finding it perfectly suited to his budget.

After settling on the design, Hunter Homes helped Brett find registered land in Chisholm. With four blocks within his price range, he selected one on the main road—ready to get started without delays.

Finding the Right Land

With the design sorted, it was time to find the perfect block of land. Brett worked with his broker and set a clear budget for both land and the build, allocating $450,000 for each. “I wanted registered land, so I could get started right away,” he shares.

Brett made his way to the Hunter Homes office in Chisholm, where our sales person helped him find four blocks within his price range. He selected one that fit his criteria, and the decision allowed him to get moving without delay.

A Smooth and Timely Build 

Though this was Brett’s first time building a home, he was prepared for potential challenges. “When I started talking about building, people would share horror stories, so I was a bit worried,” he admits. However, his experience with Hunter Homes quickly put those fears to rest.

Despite some initial delays due to wet weather, Brett was amazed at how efficiently the project progressed. “The slab and frame went up so quickly, even my broker questioned if it was being built properly!” Brett laughs. Regular site visits reassured him, and the build moved ahead faster than expected.

Originally slated to move in on 24th February, Brett was pleasantly surprised to receive his keys in early November—months ahead of schedule. “I wasn’t supposed to be in here now!” he says.

Quality That Speaks for Itself 

Brett couldn’t be happier with the quality of his new home. Though there are a few minor defects to address, the overall quality of the build has been outstanding. 

"A mate of mine installs shutters and said my windows are fantastic," Brett shares. "He compared them to my neighbour's windows, who built with another company, and he said he’d never go that route again."

This sentiment was echoed by a colleague, who also asked about Brett’s new home. 

“She works with a neighbour who built with another large builder, and she said the defects were awful—everything from the paintwork to the finish,” Brett recalls. "It just reaffirmed to me that I made the right choice with Hunter Homes."
