Jason Tackles

Larapinta Trek for Jenny’s Place

Jason Smith Rallies for the Champions for Change Larapinta Trek

At Hunter Homes, we believe in building more than just houses—we build stronger communities. That’s why Hunter Homes principle founder, Jason Smith, is taking on the Champions for Change Larapinta Trek, a multi-day hike through the breathtaking West MacDonnell Ranges. His mission? To raise $20,000 for Jenny’s Place, an organisation that has been supporting women and children in crisis for over 40 years.

But Jason isn’t doing this alone—he’s rallying the entire Hunter Homes network, including our trusted suppliers, to step up and support this vital cause.

Jenny’s Place provides emergency shelter, transitional housing, and essential support to women and children escaping domestic violence and homelessness in the Hunter Region. The Champions for Change trek is about more than just fundraising—it’s a powerful statement that men can take a leading role in ending the cycle of domestic violence.

Jason’s commitment goes beyond completing the challenge. He’s calling on our suppliers, trade partners, and business network to join the effort, proving that when we work together, we can create real change.

The Challenge Ahead

From 28 August – 4 September 2025, Jason and his fellow trekkers will tackle the Larapinta Trail, covering over 70km of rugged terrain. They’ll hike through deep gorges, dry riverbeds, and summit the 1,380m-high Mount Sonder for a spectacular sunrise.

It won’t be easy, but Jason is ready to push himself physically and mentally—knowing that every step helps women and children in crisis.

How You Can Help

Jason has already achieved his $4,000 entry target and has set a bold $20,000 total fundraising target, and we’re calling on all Hunter Homes suppliers and industry partners to contribute. Every donation goes directly to Jenny’s Place, helping fund crisis accommodation, outreach programs, and long-term support for women and children in need.

🔗 Donate Here to support Jason’s trek and help make a difference.

At Hunter Homes, we’re incredibly proud of Jason’s commitment, and we know our community of suppliers, trades, and partners will stand with him to reach this goal. Let’s show the strength of our industry—not just in building homes, but in building hope.

Purchased unregistered land? Why choosing your builder now has great advantages
Helpful Information

When you buy unregistered land, you are essentially buying a “lot” within an unregistered plan of subdivision. The purchase of unregistered land occurs when a Developer or Owner subdivides typically a much larger lot of registered land. To do this they create an unregistered plan of subdivision which must be approved by the Local Council and any governing authorities. When you purchase unregistered land, you cannot settle on your “lot” until the subdivision (or stage within) has been registered.
