For a recent Mother’s Day photoshoot,The Kenneth Diplay Home in Homeworld Thornton was restyled in collaboration with Eadie Lifestyle, showcasing how considered layering and texture can completely shift the feeling of a space while still respecting its original character.

The Kenneth Display Home naturally features a richer, moodier palette with darker tones throughout its design. For this shoot, the styling direction focused on balancing and softening those deeper tones through warmth, texture and carefully curated accents.

Rather than changing the identity of the display home, the styling enhanced it.

In the bedroom, softness was introduced through layers of French linen bedding in an olive stripe, paired with the Luca Bed Cover in Natural and a textured Looma Throw. Accents like the Aperitif Cushion and Evelyn Lumbar Cushion in Olive added subtle depth, while the Hudson chair in moss grounded the space with a natural tone.

The intention for this shoot was to create a sense of warmth and emotional ease, aligning with the sentiment of Mother’s Day. Through thoughtful layering and materiality, each space was gently lifted, without losing the depth and sophistication already present in the home.

One of the most interesting aspects of this shoot was working with The Kenneth’s naturally darker interior palette.

In the living areas, contrast was achieved through rich, tactile pieces like the Luca Linen Cushion in Midnight, layered with the Sand Cushion in Midnight and the warmth of the Evelyn Velvet Cushion in Nutmeg. The Wabi Cushion in Rust introduced an earthy softness that balanced the darker tones.

Instead of masking these tones, the styling embraced them, using contrast intentionally. Warm neutrals, soft fabrics and layered textures were introduced to create balance, ensuring each space still felt grounded but more welcoming.

“We wanted to work with the existing mood of the home, not against it. The darker tones gave us a beautiful base to build warmth and softness through layering and texture.”
