Downsizing Without Compromise: The Brambles Hunter Build

A shorter build matters more when you're downsizing, it's less time juggling two addresses, or paying rent on a home you're trying to leave. For the Brambles, the pace never showed up in the finish.

 “Don't be afraid of a shorter build time, ours was built quickly, and the quality was still excellent.”  

A smaller home was never code for a plainer one. Sitting down with the colour consultants, The Brambles skipped the all-white scheme showing up on nearly every other new build nearby and chose a bold black palette instead.

Easements on the Chisholm block meant the original design couldn't simply be dropped in as drawn. Sales consultant Anthony reworked it with the Brambles more than once, testing options until one actually fit the site.

 “He worked through every option until it fit , we never felt like we were figuring it out on our own.”  

Once construction started, being local meant Kim and Stephen could drop by and see progress for themselves rather than waiting on updates. Their site supervisor matched that visibility with his own, catching issues early enough that the couple rarely heard about a problem after the fact.

“He stayed ahead of issues, often resolving them before we'd even noticed. It built a level of trust that held from slab to keys.”

Since moving in, The Brambles say the home has changed the shape of their days, less time spent out, more time spent home. A pool is already on the list, positioned so it's visible from inside the house and ready for entertaining come summer.

 “It's even changed the way we live day to day, it draws us home rather than out.” 

Asked what they'd tell anyone else weighing up a downsizing build, their advice was simple, and came without hesitation.

"Know what you want and write it down, then stick to it.”

It's advice that mirrors their whole experience with Hunter Homes: know what matters, hold the builder to it, and let the floorplan, the timeline and the finish do the rest.
